The
main idea: to deepen pupils’ knowledge of
keeping the traditions of English-speaking
countries through project work and make up a collage of posters as a result
of every day work.
Goals:
- to develop positive motivation;
-
to
pupils’ taste and stimulate them to know more about cultures to promote of English-speaking countries
-
to
practice pupils’ oral speech
-
to
develop pupils’ language skills using interactive forms (role-plays, games)
-
to
develop pupils’ thinking, imagination and creativity.
The most effective
technologies: interactive technologies (role-play , project work)
Procedure of project work:
Every day students were
to find information beforehand about the tradition that suited the theme of the
day. For example, the theme of day 5
was “Festive traditions” . Group # 1 –
Halloween traditions, group #2 – St. Valentine’s traditions, group #3 – Pancake
traditions. Students came to class with prepared information and during the
information session they had the time to discuss and compound it onto
the poster , think about the presentation of their information (as a feedback of that
day it was role-play).
